Unit Inventory Package Code
Some units may be sold as a package, ie a boat, trailer and motor. It is recommended that the Package Code be at least three characters. When adding packaged inventory to a deal, the Package Code is used instead of the individual Stock Numbers.
The Package Code is not the same thing as creating a new inventory unit. EverLogic's Unit Inventory is designed to track individual units, including their stock and serial information. The Package Code indicates the individual inventory units are being sold together as one package. Each item can have its own Stock #, but when they share a Package Code, you can use the Package Code when adding the combination onto a deal.
Example: boat + trailer + motor

T1001 |

You would enter PKG01 in the Package Code field on each of those three individual Vehicle Inventory Forms. Then, use PKG01 when you create the deal. The important distinction is that the Stock Numbers still belong to the individual inventory units. The Package Code doesn't replace those Stock Numbers, it provides a common identifier for units that are intended to be sold together.
